Shaka Franklin Foundation On Tour To Israel
Bank One, Denver Vice President Selena Dunham will lead a group of six high school students involved with the Shaka Franklin Foundation on the America-Israel Friendship League's(AIFL) "Journey of Understanding" trip to Israel. Six students from Denver Public Schools will join the November 20-30 tour and culture of Israel, as well as its prospects for the future. Prepatory orientation sessions include studies of regional politics and Israeli-Palestinian relations.
Each year, the AIFL and Denver Public Schools sponsor the Young Ambassador Student Exchange program for high school students. Because of the success of that program, the Shaka Franklin Foundation approached AIFL for a supplemental opportunity. Israel was chosen for the first international experience because of its rich cultural and religious heritage.
